Michael Steele elected Chairman of the Republican Party. (5174 hits)

Former Maryland Lieutenant Governor Michael Steele has been elected Chairman of the Republican Party. Steele resound ‘Change’ in the party; “and expressed his commitment to bring something different to the party. Steele is the first African American to hold the Chairman of the Republican Party position.

I congratulate Steele on the selection and beating Bush for the position. I have heard him on Politically Incorrect and other shows and was impressed with him. I hold him in the same regards as Colin Powell. Both never forgot where hey came from and both show that Blacks can be as diverse as any other group. My question is that I wonder what critics have to say now about two (2) Black men running both the White House and the RNC. Okay Barack is half black, but if he was pulled over by cops, he would be considered Black (Smile). Overall, we have no more excuses for not achieving and succeeding in all career fields.

It sounds as if the Republican Party is doing again what they did with Palin. Pandering to the public perception of what is acceptable and popular. It is my hope and prayer that Mr. Steele is of quality and as Dr. King said, " judged on the content of his character, rather than the color of his skin." I'm not sure what it says of our culture...

I hope the Republican Party can change its message of devisive politics which turned so many voters off. Truly Mr. Steele is a man of character; I only hope that the party is worthy of him.
