Job Overview

The Berkley School of Nursing (BSON) provides clinical education to graduate and undergraduate nursing students. The Director for Clinical Education and Partnership is a key role in providing appropriate and high-quality clinical learning experiences through clinical placement and simulation that are designed to meet the program student outcomes and provide opportunity for skill development and competency assessment. This position will require skill in developing inter-professional relationships and working with clinical administrators in a range of practice settings. The Director for Clinical Education and Partnerships will be responsible for all aspects of clinical learning opportunities including oversight of the operations of the clinical placement team and vendors.

Work Interactions

This position reports directly to the Vice Dean of Operations. The Director for Clinical Education & Partnerships will interface with external partners, potential partners and health systems in developing relationships that support clinical placement for the BSON nursing programs. The position will require excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop relationships on behalf of the BSON, which may require occasional travel.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Master's degree in higher education or health-related field (e.g., Health systems administration, nursing education, community or public health)
  • 6-8 years of progressive leadership experience in academic operations, healthcare, or related fields
  • Strong experience in clinical placement administration and clear understanding of clinical needs for pre-licensure and APRNs.
  • Experience with developing and/or managing academic practice partnerships.
  • Knowledge of clinical education needs and competency-based assessment strategies (e.g., practicum, skills intensives) and experience in community outreach and partnership development.
  • Demonstrated success in building, managing, and leading teams, with strong organizational, project management, and operational skills.
  • Proficiency in data-driven decision-making, technology integration, and project management tools to improve operational efficiency.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, professional gravitas, with the ability to manage conflict, foster collaboration, and build teams.


Work Mode Designation

This position has been designated as Hybrid 2 Days with some required travel to clinical placement sites. Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University. Such review may necessitate a change to a position's mode of work designation. Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$66,783.00 - $126,720.23

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
