On January 27, the U.S. Government (USAID Administrator Rajiv Shah and HHS Director of the Office of Global Health Affairs Dr. Nils Daulaire) and the Government of the Russian Federation (Deputy Minister of Health Veronica Skvortsova) signed a protocol of intent in Geneva for the global eradication of polio, building on the foundation of partnership in President Obama's reset with Russia.
USAID is firmly committed to making strides, on behalf of the American people, toward reducing poverty and improving livelihoods all around the world. We look forward to building on recent key successes to support a healthier world in 2011 and the years ahead.
